AUSTRIA – I took these pictures in the Austrian Alps, on a walk near Reutte, the biggest and most important village of the westernmost part of the Tirol. This region is especially well known for winter sports, but in summer, it is perfect for mountain hiking. Though the mountains are high and steep (which means they require a certain amount of sportivity and experience), the hiking paths are super, and directions are perfectly shown everywhere.
I love mountains. Whenever I see mountains looming on the horizon, I am drawn to them. When I see mountains, I cannot resist the desire to go there. Looking at them I see the beauty of nature in one of its purest forms and experiencing them I feel the strength of nature while climbing and descending them. Walking in the mountains gives me a lot of mental strength. It feels like walking on top of the world.
It’s a little bit like nature is telling us: you can build bridges, towers and more of all that…, look: I can build this…
These mountains in Austria really are an example of the finest mountains. This part of the Alps has something special to me. Normally mountains rise gradually, and not as a child draws them, as lonely mountains going from sea-level directly to heaven. But these mountains are special because they do look like the kind a child would draw.
I started my walk in the village of Reutte on about 800m and climbed up to 2200m, from there without descending first and having to climb again. That is also why the panoramic views are so wide and beautiful. And these panoramic views work motivating on a mountain climb when the weather is about 30 degrees in full sunshine.
Enjoy the pictures!…
